‘You will never be forgotten’: Floral tributes left for motorcyclist killed in crash

Floral tributes have been left for a motorcyclist killed in a crash.

The fatal collision happened in Main Road, Longfield, near the Station Road junction, shortly after 5am on June 26.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Several bunches of flowers and a bottle of Coke Zero have now been set down on the road, opposite the Shell Garage, following the crash.

One message reads: “RIP Andy. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. From all the boys at Allseasons.”

Another adds: “Andy you will never be forgotten and will always be in our memories.”

One envelope is addressed to “dad/grandad”.

The motorcycle, a silver Yahama MT10, was reportedly headed west as the car, a beige Vauxhall Zafira, was headed in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car received treatment from paramedics at the scene.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV can submit it here.

A spokesman for the force said: “Investigators from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

“Officers are particularly keen to speak to witnesses in the Hartley Road area who may have CCTV.”
