If you’re wondering whether Amazon Prime Day would help with your search for a new gaming PC, I have good news: I’ve found a handful of enticing deals for gaming PCs (most of which feature Nvidia’s RTX 5000 series GPUs), with impressive discounts – and there’s just about enough here to cater to those looking for the best of the best, as well as those on a budget.
Prepared to spend a hefty sum, but still get bang for your buck? Then the Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktop will fulfill your needs, as it uses Nvidia‘s RTX 5080 to chew through demanding games easily. It’s available for $2,499.99 (previously $2,999.99), saving you $500.
If you wish to take it a step further, then there’s the MSI MPG Velox, which is available at $3,339.99 (previously $3,799.99). To put it simply, this is an overkill gaming PC that should only be on the radar of those who need the best of everything. It doesn’t have an RTX 5090, but with the RTX 5080, 96GB of DDR5 RAM, 4TB of storage space, and an Intel Core i9-14900KF processor, there isn’t much more to ask for.
For more realistic purchases, there are two options: the MSI Codex Z2, which is available at $1,599.99 (previously $2,199.99) using an RTX 5070 for great 1440p gaming performance, and the more budget-friendly Thermaltake LCGS Quartz i1460, available at $999.99 (previously $1,099.99) using an RTX 5060.
Both MSI Codex and Thermaltake systems should be on the radar for most people, since 1080p is still the most widely-used resolution (according to Steam’s survey).

Today’s best Amazon Prime Day gaming PC deals
If I were in the market for a new system, the easiest choice here is the MSI Codex Z2. While it’s not going to give you high-end gaming performance, its RTX 5070 is still a very strong GPU for 1440p gaming. It’s also not an 8GB GPU (something I’m totally against for desktop gaming PCs), instead, it uses 12GB of VRAM, which isn’t ideal, but it’s enough to get the job done.
In terms of a balance between affordability and performance, it’s the best choice among all the options above, at just $1,599.99. That’s the same price that some Nvidia Blackwell GPUs cost alone today, so it’s a deal that shouldn’t be ignored.
That’s not to say the Thermaltake PC isn’t a good option either. The $999.99 price is possibly the lowest you may see during Amazon Prime Day, but I would only recommend it if you’re just entering the gaming PC space, or don’t mind gaming at 1080p, with 8GB of VRAM.
