Here’s the 12 best Prime Day gaming deals for 2025

Big discounts on Meta Quest headsets, PS5 games, Switch 2 accessories, and more.

Amazon Prime Day is here (although it’s basically Prime Week at this point), and while I’ll undoubtedly be picking up as many of the available freebies as I can, I do have a hefty wishlist of gaming gear and tech that I’ve had my eye on.

Aside from popping up on Eurogamer, I’m also a longtime tech reviewer, and that certainly helps pinpoint a good deal or two. From monitors to Switch 2 accessories, here’s everything I recommend right now, and what I’m looking to pick up myself.

Let’s get into it.

My deal picks for Prime Day 2025

Save on the Meta Quest 3S at Amazon

While the Meta Quest 3S was reduced by a tenner last week, it’s reduced by even more this week. That brings it down to £237.99.

The Quest 3S has a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip inside and has a drastic performance bump from the Meta Quest 2, and it has 128GB for loading up on games and apps.

One of the killer features, however, is being able to put up a huge virtual display for watching movies, or even playing games via the Xbox app.

Six free games and more

Amazon is giving away a whole host of free games and there are definitely some I’ve got my eye on.

Toem was an indie gem that seemed to pass me by, while I’ll take any chance to play Thief: Deadly Shadows having been a big fan of first-person stealth titles for years.

I’m also looking forward to Mafia III Definitive Edition (also available as part of a Humble Bundle this month), and I recommend Trinity Fusion to anyone looking for a fun action platformer.

Outside of games, there are free books, audiobooks, and music offerings available via Kindle Unlimited, Audible, and Amazon Music Unlimited.

Switch 2 accessories

I love my Switch 2 (which is back in stock at Amazon right now as well), and I’d like to keep it nice and pristine, especially with some travelling planned this month.

I thought long and hard about which case to go for, and I’ve settled on this white Tomtoc Slim carrying case. Maybe it’s the PSP vibes it gives off, or the fact it’s compact enough to take up less room in a backpack, but it’s reduced by 15% bringing it from £22.99 down to £19.54.

Score storage for the PS5 and PC

More games means more storage, and my PC is starting to creak under the weight of my backlog, especially with a few more days left of the Steam Summer Sale.

Thankfully, Samsung 990 Pro SSD models (ideal for PC or your PS5/PS5 Pro) are on sale.

If you don’t need a heatsink, you can grab 2TB for as little as £128.99. That’s 30% off, but there’s also a whopping 4TB version that comes with a heatsink at a discount, bringing it down to £237.99

A new gaming monitor

I appreciate this is a very ‘first-world problem’, but I’m on the lookout for a gaming monitor.

I’m lucky enough to have a 5080 in my PC, but it’s (shamefully) hooked up to a 4K monitor that caps out at 60Hz. As a result, I’m on the lookout for a reasonably sized monitor that can push past 140Hz if possible.

I’m not looking to break the bank, and it needs to be something that fits in a relatively small gaming nook, so this AOC Q27G4XD could be just the thing.

It’s a 27-inch panel with 1440p resolution, but it also has plenty of ports and a nice high 180Hz refresh rate, all for £139.99 (down from £179.99).

Xbox controller at a discount

Up next, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is discounted by 20%, but only in White. Last week, it dropped to £110, but now it’s just £99.95 (down from an RRP of £124.99).

The Core Edition is a cheaper version of the full-fat Elite controller, and it includes the option to save three custom profiles, adjustable tension thumbsticks, and hair trigger locks.

There’s a rechargeable battery, too, with up to 40 hours of play on a single charge.

More great gaming deals

While I’ve got my own wishlist, here are some great gaming deals that jumped out to me.

Great games for less

Amazon has Cyberpunk 2077‘s Ultimate Edition, which includes the fantastic Phantom Liberty Expansion, for just £28.45. That’s a saving of over 40% on one of the best RPGs of the last few years, and with the announcement of a second season of Edgerunners, it’s well-timed.

Sticking with fantastic games, Elden Ring on PS5 is down to just £19.95 from £39.95, marking a drop of 50% for FromSoft’s magnum opus.

Finally, Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 was discounted last week, but you can save an extra tenner on James Sutherland’s atmospheric horror adventure. It’s down to £34.99 from £59.99 (a 42% saving).

And now for something completely different

So we’ve hit the gaming deals, now let’s quickly cover some bonus deals that are still worth checking out as well!

Garmin Vivoactive 5

Sure, it has nothing to do with gaming, but as someone who describes himself as a “reluctant runner”, I’m always looking for something to get me out the door to put one foot in front of the other.

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 can do that and more, offering a big, beautiful display that’s easy to read, as well as Garmin’s leading GPS tracking and fantastic Body Battery to help ascertain how hard you should push on your next workout.

You can save a third, with the clever watch down to just £173.99 from £259.99.

MacBook Air

I’d be remiss not to mention this deal, even though I have an M3 MacBook Air I’m very happy with.

I’ve used MacBook Pros for as long as I can remember, and figured I’d swiftly swap back after picking up an Air last year. Not only am I still using it, but I’ve fallen in love with its portability, and this model is even newer.

It was discounted by 10% last week, but you can now save an additional 5% to bring it from its £999 RRP down to £849.
