Holdfast: Nations at War is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles on July 9. Console players will be getting their first chance to plunge into the historical multiplayer shooter that PC gamers have highly praised, with Holdfast: Nations at War holding a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

Holdfast: Nations at War is a bit unique among historical shooters. The game is set in both the Napoleonic Era and World War 1, and features large fights with up to 150 players total. This allows for the historical battlefields in the Anvil Games Studios title to be nearly as chaotic as the real things.

This is When You Can Play Ready or Not on PS5 and Xbox Series X

Ready or Not developers VOID Interactive confirm when players can play the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the tactical shooter.

Holdfast: Nations at War is now on its way to current-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game was originally released in early access back in 2017, and received a full release on PC in 2020. Holdfast: Nations at War has put out a trailer highlighting some of the action in the game, as well as some favorite meme moments that have originated from actual players’ gameplay clips. As Holdfast: Nations at War features proximity chat, players are encouraged to communicate with their teams, as well as their opponents. This has led to some hilarious moments that have often been in-character, all while the war wages on around the players.

What to Expect from Holdfast: Nations at War on Console

Holdfast: Nations at War is a game based on historical combat, and, accordingly, gives players the option of joining numerous historical factions and battling it out on land or at sea. Players have access to over 27 classes, with 8 factions and 70 maps to fight on. Holdfast: Nations at War features cosmetic customization with over 100 unlockables, including emotes, weapons, backpacks, and heads. The game will also feature crossplay, so users on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC can all fight alongside or against each other.

On PlayStation and Xbox, players can pick up the game in one of four different editions. The Standard Edition will arrive with the base game and Frontlines WW1 DLC. The Napoleonic Edition contains the same, plus Holdfast: The Plight of War OST, Loyalist Edition Upgrade, Napoleonic Pack, and Playercard Cosmetics. The Great War Edition is essentially the same, but swaps the Napoleonic Pack out for a Great War Pack in its stead. For players who want it all, the Collector Edition includes both packs and everything else that’s available.

Gamers on PC who are interested in joining in on the fun can also take advantage of the ongoing Steam sale. Through July 10, the base game has been cut to $4.99 from its original $19.99, a 75% discount. The additional packs and additional content are also available at varying discounted rates. With a bunch of fresh recruits about to join the game from the console side, there may be no better time to dive in than now.
