TOKYO — Sound production studios in Japan are enjoying a surge in demand for Japanese voiceovers used in Chinese-made video games.
As domestic developers lose their dominance in Japan’s gaming industry, Chinese titles routinely top the revenue rankings for mobile games. Many developers in China today are in their 20s or 30s and grew up watching Japanese anime or playing Japanese games.
