The speculation linking Mohammed Kudus with a move to Tottenham Hotspur continues to intensify, and a fresh update has now suggested that Spurs have made a third bid for the Hammers star.
On Monday morning, The Telegraph’s Matt Law suggested that Spurs are ready to make Kudus their first signing from West Ham since 2011.
Since then, a number of sources, including Fabrizio Romano has asserted that Tottenham have held talks with Kudus, who is open to completing a move to N17.
It has been claimed by a few sources that Chelsea could challenge Spurs for Kudus, but a fresh update has now suggested that the Lilywhites are now moving full speed ahead to complete a deal for the Ghana international.
Tottenham are pushing ahead with Mohammed Kudus pursuit
Tottenham have already had two bids turned down for Mohammed Kudus, the first totalling £50m and the second with an additional £5m in add-ons. Unfortunately for the Lilywhites, the ‘third time lucky’ does not apply to this particular negotiation.
Graeme Bailey and TBR Football have now reported that Tottenham Hotspur have sent a third bid to West Ham, totalling more than £60m. However, the Hammers are not satisfied with the add-ons included in the offer.
It is said that Spurs have suggested a £50m fee with £12.5m in add-ons, but these additional payments were not taken seriously by West Ham. The add-ons were deemed ‘barely attainable’, including things like Spurs winning the Premier League and Champions League.
However, Bailey added that if Tottenham are prepared to offer cash without add-ons, West Ham may be willing to sell Kudus for under the £60m mark.
What is West Ham’s stance on selling Kudus to Spurs?
The last player to move from the East London club to N17 was Scott Parker, with the two clubs have since had a policy of not doing business with one another.
However, it has been reported that West Ham are ready to bite the bullet and sell Kudus to Tottenham, given their current PSR position and their need to raise funds to pursue their transfer targets.
Even though the 24-year-old’s release clause stands at £85m, West Ham are ready to sell Kudus to Tottenham for £60m, according to some sources.
