Amidst reports that Chelsea are looking to hijack Tottenham’s deal for Mohammed Kudus, David Ornstein has now provided an update which comes as a major boost to the Lilywhites’ chances of landing the West Ham United star.
Tottenham have already seen two offers rejected for Kudus, the latest of which was made a few days ago, and Spurs fans are getting increasingly nervous amid suggestions that their London rivals are now eyeing the Ajax man.
Some outlets have claimed over the last couple of days that Chelsea are now negotiating with West Ham over Kudus.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters are now understandably fearing that this is another deal that the Lilywhites might lose out on due to their lack of urgency, but they can now take heart from what Ornstein has reported.
Bid rejected but Mohammed Kudus is giving preference to Tottenham
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed that Spurs have indeed had an offer turned down by West Ham for Kudus over recent days but he reveals that negotiations between the two London sides are ongoing.
He says that the Ghana international has been on Chelsea’s radar for a long time but consequentially, he asserts that the 24-year-old is ‘prioritising Spurs’ if he is to leave the London Stadium.
Ornstein further adds that agreeing personal terms with the former Ajax man is not expected to be an issue for the North London side.

Spurs fans will be nervous until Kudus is announced
Many Spurs fans are still traumatised by the Willian transfer saga when Chelsea hijacked the deal for the Brazilian after he had completed a medical at Hotspur Way.
Additionally, Tottenham have already lost out to Man United in the race for Bryan Mbeumo this summer, while reports indicate that Eberechi Eze is now leaning towards a move to Arsenal over Spurs.
As a result, one cannot blame Spurs fans for being nervous despite Ornstien’s update and most will not allow themselves to be optimistic about the Kudus deal until it is signed, sealed and delivered by Daniel Levy.
