The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has just passed an impressive milestone, overtaking the first Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer in YouTube views and becoming Rockstar’s second most popular video on its channel. The highly anticipated second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 dropped out of nowhere on May 6, and it has since accumulated over 123,200,000 views. The studio’s second most popular video was previously the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5, which currently has just over 123,040,00 views in 13 years.

After some internet-breaking leaks in 2022, Rockstar Games went on to release the very first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game in December 2023. The studio then left fans in anticipation until earlier this year when it released a record-breaking second trailer for GTA 6, which quickly went on to accrue over 475 million views in 24 hours across all social media platforms. According to Rockstar Games, the trailer became the biggest and fastest-growing video launch in the history of the internet, showcasing the sheer hype and anticipation for the next instalment in the series. As it has now been almost twelve years since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, fans are making it clear that they’re ready to say goodbye to Los Santos.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Still Has Some Catching Up to Do

With that being said, Trailer 2 still has a long way to go if it wants to surpass Grand Theft Auto 6‘s very first trailer and become Rockstar Games’ most viewed YouTube video. As of writing, the game’s first trailer has over 263 million views, which means Trailer 2 needs to accumulate another 140 million views. Although it may seem like an impossible feat, there’s still just under a year left to go before Grand Theft Auto 6 hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which means fans are likely to grow impatient and continue to re-watch the trailer until the studio releases any new footage.

Despite the fact that it has been two months since its release, fans are still discovering some massively impressive details in Grand Theft Auto 6‘s second trailer.
