Kansas’ Crosswinds Casino announces major expansion with new hotel, expanded gaming floor | Yogonet International

The Wyandotte Nation broke ground on a major expansion of Crosswinds Casino last week. The expansion, led by the tribe and its economic development arm WTOK, includes the construction of a Four Diamond, 15-story hotel tower featuring 238 rooms, including 32 upscale suites.

Planned amenities include a resort-style pool with an outdoor bar and party area, fitness center, private meeting rooms, and an 8,500-square-foot ballroom and pre-function space with a private bar, designed to host weddings, corporate events, and private gatherings.

The expanded casino floor will offer over 1,400 slot machines, with separate smoking and non-smoking areas, and a high-limit room. New features also include a VIP lounge, Tap House sports bar with video wall, food hall, coffee shop, center bar, lounges, gift shop, and a rewards center.

The expansion of Crosswinds Casino presents an opportunity for the Wyandotte Nation to enhance its economic standing and support its community’s needs and cultural heritage,” Chief Billy Friend said.

General Manager Kevin Lien added that the upgraded resort will provide a top-tier gaming and hospitality experience. Moreover, WTOK CEO Kelly Carpino added that the hotel will create a full “stay and play” destination.

Champtown, a new city center with more housing, a larger senior center, and a second casino, aims to bring similar benefits to the area, KWCH reported. Lien said the second casino will help Crosswinds by drawing more people to the region.

That’s the goal, according to Park City Assistant City Administrator Dana Walden. We want to have a family-friendly community, a business-friendly community,” she said.We want to have where people can come into the city, enjoy living here, working here and coming in to shop.”

Completion of the Crosswinds Casino expansion is slated for the summer of 2027 and will add 350 jobs.

Crosswinds Casino Resort is one of four casinos owned by the Wyandotte Nation, alongside 7th Street Casino (KS), River Bend Casino and Hotel, and Lucky Turtle Casino (OK).
