Reiss Nelson in talks to join Arsenal’s Premier League rivals in £15million transfer

Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Reiss Nelson from Arsenal for around £15million, talkSPORT understands.

Nelson spent last campaign on loan at Fulham before suffering a hamstring injury in December.

The winger has been on the Gunners’ books since joining the club in 2008.

Now aged 25 and after three loan spells away from the Emirates, he seems to be closing in on a permanent exit.

Palace are on the lookout for more attacking reinforcements after selling superstar Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.

Eze departed Selhurst Park in a deal rising to £67.5m over the weekend to complete his dream move to his boyhood club.

It has left Oliver Glasner without his talisman and it appears he could be looking at Nelson to help plug a gap.

Palace have also been in talks with Leicester City‘s Bilal El Khanouss, but that deal has now collapsed.

It leaves Nelson as an option to bring in and he is looking to kick on in his career after struggling for regular minutes and falling further down the pecking order at Arsenal.

The Englishman has made 90 appearances for Arsenal – 35 of which has been as a starter – chipping in with eight goals and nine assists.

Nelson has featured more regularly on loan at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim, with his spell in Germany his most successful.

A loan to Fulham last season looked promising, but he managed just 12 outings in all competitions before picking up a hamstring knock, where he then suffered another hamstring blow in February which required surgery.

Who else are Palace interested in?

Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino is reportedly set to undergo a medical at Crystal Palace ahead of a £21.5m transfer.

Pino will sign a five-year contract at the club and will add some more creativity to the Eagles after Eze’s departure.

talkSPORT understands that Bournemouth winger David Brooks is also on Crystal Palace’s list of targets.

Wales international Brooks is now in the final year of his contract at the Vitality Stadium and his future is up in the air.

The Cherries are yet to decide whether to offer him a new deal or potentially look to cash in on him.

Palace’s incoming director of football, Matt Hobbs, is a big admirer of the 20-year-old forward.

Fulham move on to other targets

Earlier this summer, Fulham reportedly contacted Arsenal to try and re-sign Nelson, but a move never materialised.

And they are now prioritising AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Kevin as things stand.

talkSPORT understands that the Cottagers are in advanced talks to sign Nigerian international Chukwueze from Milan.

He has been on their radar since January and he is expected to cost around £21m.

Chukwueze has scored eight times in 70 appearances for the Italian giants since signing for the club in 2023.

Should he join Fulham, he’d become their second summer signing after the arrival of goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.
