With Gamescom being dominated by you-know-what, Capcom still had other titles to promote, including Onimusha: Way of the Sword. And in case you missed out on the demo at Gamescom, Capcom has released a 10-minute playthrough video of the demo. In fact, the demo will be making a second appearance later this week at PAX West 2025 in Seattle from August 29 to September 1.
The video in question sees the player heading to the iconic Kiyomizu-dera to investigate the appearance of Malice in the area. However, a legion of Genma are there waiting for him. What’s a samurai armed with the Oni Gauntlet do to but engage in some sword slinging? The conclusion of the video sees the player engage in a boss fight with Sasaki Ganryu.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword returns to a dark fantasy feudal Japan where samurai clash with the supernatural in cutting-edge combat. The game takes place in Kyoto during the early Edo period. In this time of relative peace for Japan, Malice has befallen the ancient city. Twisted into an eerie and unsettling place, Kyoto has been infested by the demonic Genma.
Look for Onimusha: Way of the Sword in 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
