The accident happened at around 5.30am, between Old Loose Hill and Rosemount Close.

As a result, there are delays in and around the area, with drivers being asked to consider alternative routes.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed patrols are now at the scene of the “serious collision”.

He added: “We were called to the incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at 5.33am.

“The pedestrian was treated by paramedics at the scene and he has been taken to a London hospital by air ambulance.

“The road is currently closed to traffic near the junction with Rosemount Close while an investigation is underway into the circumstances.”
