Fanatics Betting and Gaming has finalized a multiyear agreement with Boyd Gaming Corporation that will allow the sports betting brand to enter the Missouri market. The deal provides Fanatics Sportsbook access to operate online wagering under Boyd’s license and establishes retail sportsbook locations at Boyd’s Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City and Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa St. Charles.
Announced on Monday, the partnership positions Fanatics as one of the players set to go live during Missouri’s expected December 1 rollout of legal sports betting. The launch is contingent on regulatory approvals, including those from the Missouri Gaming Commission, once the rules officially take effect on August 30.
With this agreement, Missouri becomes the 24th state where Fanatics will have an active online sportsbook presence. The company’s national footprint continues to expand, now trailing only DraftKings (27 states) and FanDuel (24 states). Fanatics also runs retail sportsbook operations in neighboring Illinois and Iowa.
Under the terms of the partnership, Fanatics plans to launch both mobile and in-person betting operations in Missouri this December. Sports bettors across the state will be able to download the Fanatics Sportsbook app on iOS and Android devices. Users will have access to Fanatics’ signature offerings, such as up to 10% FanCash back on all bets, the Fair Play injury protection policy, and exclusive events unique to the brand.
The retail sportsbooks at the two Ameristar locations will feature betting markets on major sports, including professional and collegiate football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, MMA, and soccer. All odds and betting lines will be developed and managed internally by Fanatics.
Missouri’s sports betting market has begun to solidify over the past several weeks. Six sports betting licenses have been assigned, with Fanatics joining a competitive field. DraftKings and Circa recently received untethered licenses from the state’s regulators, while most others have gained access through collaborations with casinos or professional sports teams.
FanDuel recently secured its Missouri position through a partnership with St. Louis City SC, while Bet365 joined forces with the St. Louis Cardinals in March. BetMGM will enter via a deal with Century Casinos. These entries, like Fanatics’, hinge on regulatory sign-off in the coming months.
Fanatics’ Missouri announcement comes just after Flutter, the parent company of FanDuel, repurchased Boyd Gaming’s 5% stake in FanDuel for $1.8 billion. That transaction ends a long-running relationship between the two companies and has opened the door for new partnerships, such as Boyd’s new arrangement with Fanatics.
Missouri is set to become the 39th state in the U.S. to legalize sports betting and the 31st to allow online wagers. According to projections from Legal Sports Report (LSR), the state could see over $4.5 billion in annual betting handle and more than $500 million in revenue once the market is fully operational.
