During Gamescom, Xbox announced it was bringing another one of its games to PS5. This time around, it’s the newest iteration of a long-running, fan-favorite series.
Xbox’s Age of Empires IV is coming to PS5 later this year
Developer World’s Edge announced Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is coming to PS5 on November 4. Additionally, it will launch alongside the new expansion, Dynasties of the East. The game is available to preorder now in a Standard Edition ($39.99), Deluxe Edition ($59.99), and Premium Edition ($69.99). Anyone interested can preorder it right now on the PS Store.
For PS5 players who want to enjoy everything Age of Empires IV has to offer, the Premium Edition features all of the game’s DLC, including Dynasties of the East. Here is everything that comes with the $69.99 version:
- Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition
- Dynasties of the East DLC
- Knights of Cross and Rose DLC
- The Sultans Ascend DLC
- Up to 5 days early access
The Dynasties of the East DLC includes tons of new content for Age of Empires IV players. This includes four new variant civilizations (Golden Horde, Macedonian Dynasty, Sengoku Daimyo, and Tughlaq Dynasty), six biomes, eight maps, and The Crucible single player RTS roguelite mode.
The PS5 version of Age of Empires IV attempts to bring the RTS to the console with full controller support. This includes intelligent automation options, simplified tactical commands, and enhanced radial UI systems.
This is not the first Age of Empires game Xbox has brought to the PS5. Back in May, World’s Edge released Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition for PS5. Just before that in March, the studio also brought its mythical RTS, Age of Mythology Retold, to PS5.
The next Xbox game coming to PS5 is Gears of War: Reloaded, a new remaster of the first entry in the lauded third-person shooter franchise.
