It’s been over a decade since the release of the last Metal Gear Solid game, but there’s finally a new game in the series and it’s about to launch soon.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is halfway between a remake and a remaster of one of the best games in the celebrated series, Metal Gear Solid 3. Delta brings the classic game you know and love – with all the old pros and cons included – and adds a fancy new layer of Unreal Engine graphics on top, with a few additional changes on top like improved controls, new game modes, a free camera option, and more.

Ahead of the game’s launch, we’ve put together all the information you need to know about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta, as well as the exact release time for Metal Gear Solid Delta, and all the available Metal Gear Solid Delta editions, their contents, and their pricing.
Metal Gear Solid Delta will be released on August 28, 2025 worldwide.
The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — the PS5 version, at this time, seems to be the way to go for players, having a slightly higher score on Metacritic at 86 versus the PC version’s 85. All versions should look and perform roughly the same, though, with only minor differences between the games. The biggest delta between the different versions is that the PS5 and PC versions of the game will have the Snake vs. Monkey minigame, a crossover with Sony’s Ape Escape series, while the Xbox version will have a new minigame called Snake vs. Bomberman.
Players who preorder the digital deluxe edition of the game – detailed in full below – will get access to the game 48 hours early, on August 26, 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Release Times
Metal Gear Solid Delta will be released on PS5 at 12:00am midnight EDT.
Like many games, Metal Gear Solid Delta is following a rolling midnight release throughout the globe. This means that it will be released at midnight in the easternmost timezone in each region — gamers in New York will get access to the game when it hits midnight there, and gamers in California will get access to it at the same time, which will be 9:00pm PDT on August 27. New Zealand will get access to it even earlier, as it hits midnight on the 28th 16 hours before New York.
The digital deluxe edition advanced access for the game is also available at midnight, 48 hours prior to the release of the main game.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Editions and Pricing
Metal Gear Solid Delta is available in two digital editions: a standard edition and a digital deluxe edition. Two physical editions are also available, each with different entitlements.
The standard edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta costs $69.99 USD digitally, and includes the game itself and, if preordered before the release date, a preorder bonus of White Tuxedo uniform.
The digital deluxe edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta costs $79.99 USD digitally, and comes with the base game and the preorder bonuses, as well as a Sneaking DLC Pack.
All physical versions of the game will come with the early purchase bonus and the Sneaking DLC pack, while the Collector’s Edition physical edition will also come with additional bonus items.
