Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar Review (Nintendo Switch 2)

I have had Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar in my hands for about a month since my preview was written up. As expected, it became more of an addiction than I would be willing to admit.

Game Name: Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 (Reviewed), PC
Developer(s): Marvelous Inc.
Publisher(s): XSEED Games, Marvelous USA, Inc., Marvelous Europe

Release Date: August 27th, 2025
Price: $49.99 (Nintendo Switch, PC), $59.99 (Nintendo Switch 2)

As stated in my Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar preview (seriously, go read that, as I don’t want to retread too much ground in this one), you are an unknown individual who gets a letter inviting you to Zephyr Town. When you arrive, you learn from the mayor that they want you to be a farmer so they can start hosting their grand bazaars once again. To do that, the mayor gives you farmland, a house, and tools to take care of the farm.

Becoming A Farmer

Right from the start in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you are given tools to till the fields, plant seeds, and water them. You will also be given fertilizer that increases the quality of your produce. You also get tools early on to hack at rocks and logs to gather rock pieces and sticks. You can also fish and collect grass and flowers. These are all used in the game.

A little later in the game, you will have the opportunity to buy farm animals from the bazaar. This is how you get cows, chickens, and sheep. Cows can be milked, chickens can give you eggs, and sheep provide wool.

Later on in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you can repair the mill on the farm. This mill allows you to process raw ingredients into actual products. If you put in a variety of raw ingredients, you can even craft accessories like necklaces as gifts for villagers. If there is anything you don’t think you can use, it can be sold in the Grand Bazaar.

Grand Bazaar

The grand bazaar is the focus of the game, and it is how you unlock more of the game’s story. Each week, Zephyr Town holds a grand bazaar, with your stall being the main attraction. You can sell anything you think will sell. What is available in your stock determines what the customers who come across your stall want.

You will see customers walking all around your stall, and you need to grab their attention. Once you draw their eyes to your stall, they will take a look at what you have on display. Either they will rush to buy a certain item or leave disappointed. What you display is up to you. You can put everything you have into the store’s stock, but your stall only has so much space. The bigger the grand bazaar becomes, the larger the stall you can use to display your items.

Your rank increases if you sell past a certain allotment of money. For this reason, I would often save my gold medals that I found around the town and the mountain until the day of the Grand Bazaar. This rank also helps the town grow, bringing in new citizens. These can either be permanent villagers who want to live there or people looking to set up their own stalls.

Remaking Grand Bazaar

The art style of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar gives the characters a fresh new look. These characters are fun, and they look better than ever. It isn’t a full overhaul of the characters but rather a visual upgrade from the old Nintendo DS game. It is great seeing the quality of this design in action.

The Nintendo Switch 2 runs Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar smoothly at a consistent 60 FPS. It includes a mouse mode, but I would also have loved touch screen support to move items into storage or into the shop. The graphics are stylized, and I think it works well for the game.

Story Of Seasons

Overall, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a great experience on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is addictive, though a bit repetitive with the day-to-day tasks. It has an easy-to-recommend gameplay loop if you are interested in a cozy farming experience.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar releases on August 27th, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
