Tottenham man is still on Juventus shortlist, but he is no longer the top choice

Juventus are keeping an eye on the future of one Tottenham player, and Spurs look likely to cash in on him at some point in the next 10 days.

Since the summer transfer window opened, Tottenham have been trying to find a buyer for Bissouma, but the club have not managed to do a deal so far, for one reason or another.

Various Italian outlets had previously claimed that Juventus are eyeing a move for Bissouma after hearing that he is surplus to requirements at Spurs, but there is one factor which could prevent the Old Lady from landing the 28-year-old.

It was reported by Corriere dello Sport two weeks ago that Juve may abandon their pursuit of Bissouma and pursue Morten Hjulmand instead, since the Tottenham man would take up a non-EU spot in their squad.

Juventus are continuing to monitor Yves Bissouma’s situation at Tottenham

According to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), the Mali international is still very much on the Bianconeri’s wishlist as they scour the market for a number six.

The report claims that the Serie A giants have abandoned their pursuit of Hjulmand after being unable to strike a deal with Sporting Lisbon.

They are now allegedly ready to turn to Bissouma and Brighton’s Matt O’Riley as their top options as they aim to bolster the base of their midfield.

However, it is made clear that the Brighton man is Juve’s top target over the Spurs star, with the Malian’s non-EU status once again given as the main reason.

What is Bissouma’s stance on his future?

It was reported by journalist Sacha Tavolieri a couple of days ago that Bissouma’s first option is to remain at Tottenham this season.

The journalist explained that if Thomas Frank pushes him out of the door, the midfielder would prefer to remain in the Premier League as he needs to reside in the country for one more year to obtain a British passport.

Tavolieri added that West Ham United and Everton have both been keeping an eye on the Tottenham man’s situation.
