Elon Musk’s X.AI Corp. tried to “bully” a gaming and blockchain technology company into relinquishing its rights to its registered trademark, a California federal lawsuit said.
Ex Populus Inc. used and applied to register its “XAI” trademark at least a month before Musk announced the infringing name of his AI company, the complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.
X.AI’s threat to cancel Ex Populus’ trademark registration unless it acquiesced constituted an effort to “intimidate” by “companies owned by one of the wealthiest, most highly visible, and most polarizing individuals in the world,” …
