We’ve spotted a unique gaming PC that’s ultra-portable, lightweight, and compact, and it just so happens to have a hefty $650 discount on Amazon right now. This LAN Gaming Desktop RTX 5080 PC is down from $3,049.99 to $2,399.99, and it’s an ingeniously designed machine that packs a punch for 1440p and 4K gaming.

If you’re on the hunt for something mid-way between an RTX 5080 laptop and your larger RTX 5080 gaming PCs, then this is a great shout that brings a lot to the table for the price.

What’s in this PC?

GPU

This PC has perhaps one of the best price-to-performance ratio cards in the 50-series, the RTX 5080. It’s an impressive GPU that performs exceptionally well at 1440p and 4K, especially with a helping hand from DLSS and MFG. We’ve tested and reviewed an RTX 5080, so we can give you an idea of its performance, using Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings with Ray Tracing as an example. For this, it achieved 68fps at 1440p and 35fps at 4K. While that may not sound too punchy, as mentioned, you get significantly higher fps when DLSS and MFG are used. To have a card like this in a small, portable PC case is pretty impressive, especially given the fact that the laptop RTX 5080 alternative is far less powerful.

CPU

You’ve got an AMD 8-Core Ryzen 7 8700F here, which is an AM5 processor released back in 2024. It’s not a bad processor as far as gaming goes, but it doesn’t come close to the likes of some of the X3D offerings, which are often paired with the RTX 5080.

This CPU has 8 cores, 16 threads, a decent 5GHz boost clock speed, but a fairly underwhelming 16MB L3 cache. We came across the processor in an RTX 5070 model recently, too, and it looks to be one of the go-tos for keeping overall costs lower. One of the advantages of this CPU is that it’s easy to keep cool, which will come in handy with this unique portable case, which doesn’t exactly have a ton of space for airflow. In that sense, this CPU makes a lot of sense here.

Storage and RAM

This PC is surprisingly good here, coming in with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM with 5200MHz memory speeds. It also packs a hefty 2TB NVMe SSD, which can hold around twenty AAA titles for reference. More than enough in our opinion. The only mild downside is that the SSD is Gen4, instead of Gen5. That means read and write speeds are likely to be around the 5000MB/s mark, if we had to guess. That’s not a big deal, but if you’re looking for ultra-fast

Who’s this deal for?

The big thing here is this PC’s ultra-portability and power for the price. Coming in at just under $2400, this is around $600 less than most RTX 5080 gaming laptops and much more powerful, providing a unique alternative that may suit some situations, like gaming tournaments, better. For the price, we think it’s a real winner and is well worth considering.
