Breaking news for all lovers of the horror genre: the classic Halloween movie returns as a game experience. A new game project has been announced at Gamescom, and the director of the 1978 movie Halloween, John Carpenter, will be a producer.
Halloween: The Game is described as an “immersive stealth-based horror.” The trailer introduces its setting and the mood, showing a peaceful town decorated for Halloween, drowned in the pitch-black night darkness, and features the main character, inspired by the movie’s Michael Myers.
Halloween will be developed by IllFonic, the creator of asymmetrical horrors such as Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator Hunting Grounds, and published by Gun Media. The movie-based game will be an asymmetrical game experience, but will also feature a single-player mode. The project will launch on PC, PlayStation and Xbox in 2026.
