Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase is once again here to highlight games coming your way in the near future (and beyond). Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards, the stream primarily focused on new or first looks at previously announced games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Resident Evil Requiem, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
But there were more than a few surprises at Gamescom ONL, including new game announcements and reveals like a fantastic-looking new Lego Batman game and the sequel to Black Myth: Wukong. Here’s a breakdown of the biggest trailers and announcements that were shown.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Treyarch, Raven, and Activision revealed more about this year’s Call of Duty entry, Black Ops 7. You know the drill: bigger and better multiplayer and Zombies, of course, but the devs are doing something new with the co-op campaign this year. We have more details in our Black Ops 7 preview.
Fallout season 2
Prime Video’s Fallout TV series is heading to New Vegas for season 2. In a new trailer, we get a look at some tantalizing action, a release date, and our first look at the franchise’s iconic Deathclaws.
Lords of the Fallen 2
CI Games revealed the next entry in its dark fantasy, Souls-inspired action-RPG series, showing a dramatic announcement trailer for Lords of the Fallen 2. The game is coming to PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X in 2026.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
A new Lego Batman is coming in 2026, and it looks like a blast. TT Games’ Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight features moments from throughout Batman’s film, TV, and comics career, borrowing elements from the Nolan, Burton, and Reeves Batman universes.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the anime
FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting a 1:1 anime adaptation, thanks to Crunchyroll. Sekiro: No Defeat will debut in 2026.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui
Game Science announced its sequel to Black Myth: Wukong, the now-in-development Black Myth: Zhong Kui. Like Wukong, the next Black Myth will be a single-player action role-playing game, drawing creative inspiration from the famed Chinese folk figure Zhong Kui.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4
Warhammer 40,000’s real-time strategy game series returns, promising “the largest campaign ever with four distinct factions battling it out in epic, brutal large-scale conflicts.” Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is confirmed for a Windows PC release in 2026.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
Blizzard Entertainment released the first cinematic and some gameplay for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight. In typical Blizzard fashion, that CG intro to the conflict of the new WoW expansion is gorgeous.
Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 Online crossover
Capcom’s Ryzo Tsujimoto and Square Enix’s Naoki Yoshida announced that Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy 14 will crossover later this year, bringing rideable Chocobos and posing Cactuars to Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter. But Final Fantasy 14 fans won’t be left hanging; Monster Hunter Wilds’ Seikrets and Palicos are coming to the MMO.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Get a new look Onimusha: Way of the Sword, specifically what the Genma — the demons of Onimusha — are cooking up for protagonist Musashi.
Silent Hill f
A fresh look at Konami’s Silent Hill f reveals more about the psychological horror game’s story and its English-language cast, ahead of the game’s release next month.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Host Geoff Keighley showed new footage of Team Cherry’s long-awaited follow-up to Hollow Knight, but did not yet confirm a release date. Yes, Hollow Knight: Silksong will arrive in 2025, as previously confirmed, but we’ll apparently have to wait until later this week to know exactly when we can play it.
World of Tanks: Heat
Wargaming is injecting some hero shooter flavor into the World of Tanks formula with World of Tanks: Heat, a stand-alone free-to-play spinoff that’s got a lot more flare.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
We got a new look at the monster-shoot-’em-up action of John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, which is now coming out in early 2026.
Disco Elysium studio reveals Zero Parades
Studio ZA/UM revealed Zero Parades, which it describes as a story-rich espionage RPG. “You’re a brilliant but tormented operant on a desperate assignment. Pick up the pieces of your broken network, untangle a bloody web of intrigue at the End of History, and prove yourself on the big stage or blow it all up – again,” the developer behind Disco Elysium says.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. But before that, DLC Order of the Giants launches on Sept. 4.

Ghostrunner developer One More Level revealed Valor Mortis, an upcoming first-person Soulslike set in 19th-century Eastern Europe. As an undead former soldier of Napoleon’s army, you’ll wield supernatural powers, battle horror monsters, and unravel a conspiracy that threatens all of humanity, devs say.
