The corporate environment has been an inspiration for many media creations, including series such as The Office with its charismatic characters and Severance featuring an eerie atmosphere, along with indie games such as PAGER. The newly released beat ’em up 2D game Stick It to the Stickman is also inspired by the corporate world. The game was developed by indie South African studio Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital.
Stick It to the Stickman is a physics-based brawler, in which you climb a corporate ladder – literally. To earn promotions, you’ll need to complete dubious “work tasks” and battle your way through hordes of red stickman colleagues.
You can choose from hundreds of unique fighting moves, from punches and kicks to explosive blasts and more. Also, you’ll face rival CEOs and tackle shady assignments, all in the name of boosting corporate profits. The game features single-player and multiplayer modes.
Stick It to the Stickman was revealed back in 2022. Check out our interview with Free Lives’ Producer Ruan Rothmann, in which he discussed the company’s working culture. Recently, the developers also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the project’s creation:
