One nearby business told KentOnline that crews arrived at around 12.30pm along with three fire engines.

It is understood that the road is closed off to traffic and that the flames have not spread to any other buildings.

The restaurant, which opened in August 2022, is well-known for its premium dining and seats 56 people.

Owner Tariq Ahmed also owns Jumeira, a stone’s throw away from Bleú and another takeaway in Wadhurst.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for more information.

More as we get it.
