GTA 6 will be released on May 26, 2026, if all goes well. After the first delay, several voices have been raised to suggest a possible further delay. However, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has stated that he is convinced that the title will arrive on time.
“My level of conviction is very, very high, obviously,” he told CNBC. The executive also confirmed that Rockstar Games is working on new projects. While he did not mention any names, recent leaks point to a remake of Grand Theft Auto IV and a current-generation version of Red Dead Redemption 2, which, if confirmed, will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Take 2 is not claiming victory
Everyone assumes that GTA VI will be a game-changer for the video game industry. Zelnick, on the other hand, has preferred to keep his feet on the ground and strike a cautious tone.
“We try not to pump expectations. Rockstar’s whole stock and trade is to have these extraordinary expectations and still beat them. While I couldn’t be more optimistic than I am, all of us have to do the work. We have to deliver something great to consumers and then the consumers are going to tell us just how great it is.” In any case, Take-Two’s CEO has emphasized his conviction that the game “will be incredible.”
GTA 6 will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The PC version has not yet been announced, but Rockstar Games always develops console versions first.
