Is Fortnite down? It was for a few hours.
Users reported issues in the early evening on Aug. 14, according to DownDetector.com.
As of around 6:45 p.m., 4,885 Fortnite users were reporting issues with the game, according to the monitoring site. The number grew to over 7,300 at 7:20 p.m., but has since dropped down to 2,900 at 8:05 p.m.
At 8:54 p.m., Fortnite proclaimed on X: “Back to bug-squashing! … Thanks for your patience everyone, and we’ll continue monitoring everything to ensure there’s no further issues.”
This came hours after some users could log in and others encountered a matchmaking error while trying to start a new game.
Fortnite had initially posted on X at 6:39 p.m.: “We’re investigating a log-in issue preventing players from getting in reliably, and we’re working to resolve this ASAP.”
