Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts where Tottenham will finish in Premier League table

Gabriel Agbonlahor has made a bold prediction about where he expects Tottenham to finish in the Premier League under new manager Thomas Frank, and it may not be what Spurs fans want to hear.

The Premier League is only just two weeks away from kicking off, and Tottenham Hotspur will be eager for a much better showing this campaign.

Spurs’ league performance last season left a lot to be desired, as Ange Postecoglou oversaw one of the worst domestic campaigns in the history of the Lilywhites, finishing 17th, a spot above the relegation zone.

Of course, Thomas Frank would now be hoping to improve on that, and for the Dane, the aim would be to achieve a top-six finish or to get into the Champions League places.

Gabriel Agbonlahor makes Premier League prediction for Tottenham under Thomas Frank

Gabriel Agbonlahor has now predicted where he believes Tottenham will finish next season under Thomas Frank.

The former Aston Villa man claims that Tottenham will fall short next campaign and will miss out on Champions League football.

Agbonlahor believes that Daniel Levy will spend another £100 million in the coming weeks, but despite that, the former Premier League striker still thinks that it would not be enough for Tottenham to finish in the top six.

He said on talkSPORT: “I think they will finish in seventh! I think they will spend more than that (what Morgan Gibbs-White would have cost). It would not surprise me to spend another £100 million.

“Yes, because of the Champions League money. I mean, winning the Europa League, the Champions League money makes a big difference.

“And Thomas Frank would not have taken this job if he was not guaranteed to get certain players that he wanted.”

Daniel Levy’s summer backing could prove Agbonlahor wrong

Of course, the league matters a lot to chairman Daniel Levy, who did not hesitate to axe Ange Postecoglou this summer, even after he won the Europa League and finished 17th in the Premier League.

With that in mind, it is clear that Frank would need a strong league campaign if his first tenure in the Tottenham dugout is to be marked as a success.

Daniel Levy and co are currently laying the foundation for Thomas Frank this transfer window, with new signings like Tel, Takai and Mohammed Kudus, while Joao Palhinha is also edging closer to joining Tottenham.

If Spurs could add more experience to the attacking midfield position, the full-back role and their forward line, then they could very much prove Agbonlahor wrong and push for a top four or five finish.
