We may not know when Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will fully launch, beyond its wide-open 2026 release window, but we now know that Marvel fans will have a shot to check it out surprisingly soon. Registrations are now open for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls‘ closed beta next month, though it’ll only be for PlayStation 5 (sorry, PC players.)
The PS5 closed beta will run from Sept. 5-7. On the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls PlayStation page, click on the “register now” button and fill out the form to sign up for the beta. Signing up for the beta doesn’t guarantee access, so keep an eye on your email to see if you’re selected.
The beta will feature six characters — presumably Star-Lord, Storm, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Doctor Doom, and Iron Man, based on the beta trailer — online and “limited” offline matches, a spectator mode, and a tutorial. You can check out a 12-minute beginner’s guide now if you want an early leg up on the competition.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls closed out Sony’s June State of Play with a bang. It’ll be a 4-on-4 tag fighter, and it’s slated to arrive in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Marvel Tōkon is poised to flip the script on the Marvel vs. Capcom era and is further evidence that Marvel is lapping DC in video games.
