Two beloved rock artists who have made their mark on British music over the decades are bringing timeless tunes to the Kent coast.
The Who’s Roger Daltrey and new-wave band Squeeze are both set to perform at Dreamland, Margate’s quirky outdoor funfair, this summer.

Singer Roger Daltrey, who recently completed a run of UK solo tour dates, will headline the venue’s Scenic Stage as part of the Margate Summer Series, a string of open-air concerts that has already seen the likes of Texas, The Libertines and HAIM perform this year.
The 81-year-old formed The Who in 1964 alongside guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon.
The group became one of the biggest bands of the era with singles such as My Generation, the Kids Are Alright and Pinball Wizard.

The Grammy Award-winner will be joined for his Margate gig by chart-topping Birmingham band Ocean Colour Scene, Bruce Foxton’s From The Jam and DJ Eddie Piller.
Roger Daltrey will be at Dreamland on Friday, August 8. You can book tickets online here.
Just a few days later, ‘70s band Squeeze are celebrating more than 50 years of hits with a headline concert.
Their only date in the county this year will be at Dreamland, where the new wave favourites will play some of their best-known hits such as Up the Junction, Cool for Cats, Another Nail in My Heart and Hourglass.

The band split in 1999, with members going on to have their own solo careers, most notably keyboardist Jools Holland, who now lives in Cooling, near Rochester, and has hosted TV shows like The Tube and Later with Jools Holland.
For their Margate date, original members Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford will be joined by bassist Owen Biddle, guitarist Melvin Duffy, percussionist Steve Smith, keyboardist Stephen Large, singer Danica Dora and drummer Simon Hanson.
They will also be joined by singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy, who will warm up the crowd before the main act hits the stage.
Squeeze will be at Dreamland on Thursday, August 14. You can book tickets online here.
Dreamland’s summer concerts continue until September, with Olly Murs, Dizzee Rascal, Razorlight, Sugababes and more set to appear.
