Subscribers recently learned that Persona 3 Reload, Farming Simulator 22, and Anthem will exit Xbox Game Pass on August 15th. Gamers will no longer experience the remake of one of the most popular JRPG titles. Crop growers must also upgrade to the newly added Farming Simulator 25.
One drawback of Xbox Game Pass is that not all downloads remain accessible indefinitely. Microsoft has announced which three titles are leaving all subscription tiers on August 15th. A few of the Xbox Game Pass games are still well-supported, which may disappoint their followers. Gamers will need alternative ways to play Persona 3 Reload, Farming Simulator 22, and Anthem.
The removal of Persona 3 Reload will come as a blow to fans of the JRPG genre. As a remake of the 2006 title, most gamers find that it modernizes the original while preserving a compelling narrative. Refined gameplay mechanics also enhance its finely tuned turn-based combat system.
With Persona 3 Reload arriving on Nintendo’s new handheld on October 23, 2025, its departure from Xbox Game Pass may not be coincidental. While it may benefit sales of the Switch 2 game, Microsoft’s Xbox and PC subscribers are left without any included Persona titles on the service.
Farming and sci-fi fans also will lose Xbox Game Pass favorites
Farming Simulator 22 will leave on August 15th, with the goal of adding to its sequel’s player base. On August 1st, Farming Simulator 25 became an option on Game Pass. Virtual harvesters will enjoy improved visuals, featuring the notable addition of ground deformation. Worker AI has also undergone an overhaul, making solo work in fields less of a chore. While a newer game replaces it, players won’t be able to carry over progress from Farming Simulator 22, and not all mods may be available.
The servers for BioWare’s Anthem are set to shut down in January 2026, so its retirement from Game Pass was inevitable. The futuristic action-RPG did not meet sales goals or appeal to as wide an audience as EA had hoped. Critics of the imminently delisted game argue that it never recovered from a lack of content or technical snafus at launch.
Buyers who are not willing to part with the Xbox Game Pass games can opt to purchase them at a discount. However, other new additions like Grounded 2 or Mafia: The Old Country on August 8th may be enough to keep subscribers invested in the service.
