A Farmington man was arrested Friday night after allegedly threatening to blow up the Finger Lakes Gaming Casino, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jose Luis Torres-Berrios, who reportedly made the threat following a verbal altercation at the casino bar on August 2 around 9:16 p.m.
Authorities said the incident began when casino security attempted to remove Torres-Berrios from the bar area. In response, he allegedly stated he would return to his residence, construct several explosives, and use them to destroy the casino and harm people inside.
Deputies located and arrested Torres-Berrios at the scene. He was charged with making a terroristic threat and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
