We recently reported on a person who brought a piece of a classic racing game, Need For Speed Underground 2, to real life. Seeing real versions of the game’s customizable gauges really got some of the nostalgia juices flowing, and we’ve been thinking about some of our favorite racing video games. I have a seriously long list, but I thought I’d highlight one that not many people might be familar with: Onrush. It was a fast-paced off-road racer from the now EA-owned Codemasters and developers from the defunct Evolution Studios. Evolution Studios was responsible for other racing game greats such as the Motorstorm series and DriveClub. Sadly, the game’s servers have gone offline, and you’ll need to find a physical copy of it to play it anymore, and it never got any sequels. Of course, my list can go on. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is another favorite of mine, and one of the best competitors to the Need For Speed Underground series I’ve ever seen. But what about you? What are some of your favorites and why?
