Review | E-WIN Champion Upgraded Series Heavy Duty Gaming Chair

Whether you’re all work or all play, there’s a good chance the chair you choose to sit in for many hours every day is one of the most important unexpected considerations in your day-to-day life.

As someone who does copious amounts of both, I was in sore need (my back will vouch) of an upgrade from the very affordable chair that has served me well over the last three years to a heavy duty gaming chair that could handle long sessions in front of the computer. The upgrade I was looking for was focused on comfortability and E-WIN delivered with the Champion Upgraded Series chair that doubles as a gaming and office chair.

The Build

The instructions for the E-WIN Champion Upgraded Series chair note that it is easier to build this chair with a friend, and I can definitely see how that is a helpful tip! But I was able to assemble the gaming chair in a smooth 45 minutes, which included a number of friendly interruptions from my cat who had to investigate the large box and all of its contents.

The chair comes with two different screwdriver/allen wrench tools to assist with assembly, along with a large one-sheet set of instructions that were very easy to follow.

The chair itself was divided into just a few pieces – the back rest, the seat and arm rests (assembled!), the chair’s tilt mechanism, the five-star base that houses the wheels, and the hydraulic piston. The chair also came with magnetic arm rest covers, along with a lumbar pillow and magnetic head rest pillow.

I would rate the build as a 4 out of 5 overall, mostly because a second person would have been a great help when I was trying to install the back rest onto the seat. But I was able to get it assembled regardless, so it was less impossible and just the part of assembly that took the longest.

Comfort and Gaming

The cushions for both the seat and the back rest are incredibly comfortable and breathable, and the lumbar pillow and head rest double down in that department.

The customizations from the comfort adjustments suited me extremely well, including the tilt capabilities. The backrest can move forward and lay back quite distance, and the lumbar pillow provides incredible comfort and support when I want to sit forward but maintain good posture.

My only complaint, as a short woman who stands around 5’0″, is that the lowest height is still just a tad too tall. The seat height keeps the heels of my feet from touching the ground.

It hasn’t proven to be  prohibitively uncomfortable over a longer gaming session, but your mileage may vary. The upside is that the seat size is large enough for me to sit cross-legged (as I do often) very comfortably, even through 4-hour plus gaming sessions or a solid day’s worth of working in front of the computer.

E-WIN’s aim to create a gaming chair that could double as an ergonomic office chair was achieved. I can’t remember the last time I could sit and play for many hours without thinking once about feeling uncomfortable. The seat and back rest both are some of the most firm-yet-comfortable cushions I’ve experienced (my cat thinks so too).

E-WIN offers a number of products ranging from the ergonomic Office-Gaming combo in a variety of colors (including hot pink for the cozy girls) that I built, as well as specialties like Big and Tall that can support those up to 400 lbs and gaming desks that have special features like wireless charging and flashy RGB lights.
