Tottenham kept informed amidst latest Heung-min Son to LAFC update

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has provided an update on Heung-min Son’s future as Los Angeles FC tries to tie up a deal for the Tottenham forward.

Spurs have now landed in South Korea, which is the third time in four years they have travelled to the country for pre-season.

It has been reported by some sources that this could be a farewell tour for Heung-min Son, whose future at Tottenham is in major doubt.

Over the last few days, some sources have claimed that Son is close to agreeing personal terms with LAFC as the Major League Soccer side look to tie up a deal for the Tottenham legend.

Talks ongoing between Heung-min Son and LAFC, Tottenham kept informed

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that talks are still ongoing between the 33-year-old’s camp and the Californian side.

The journalist adds that Tottenham Hotspur are being kept abreast of the conversations that are happening as the Lilywhites wait for a decision from their captain.

However, Plettenberg makes it clear that as things stand, there is no agreement between the parties, with discussions expected to continue.

He wrote: ‘Talks between Heung-min Son and Los Angeles FC are ongoing. Tottenham have been informed. However, there is no agreement or decision at this stage. To be continued.”

Did Son send a major hint about his future on Thursday?

Thomas Frank has maintained that Son will have an important role under him at Tottenham if he stays, with the Dane refusing to give too much away about the South Korean’s future.

However, there was a telling moment following Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Arsenal in Hong Kong, with Guglielmo Vicario and Cristian Romero seen having an emotional conversation with Son before the Argentine put the captain’s armband on the forward.

I have captured the moment of Romero putting captain’s armband to Son after the game is over in front of Vicario. Quite touching moment given the situation. (I did ask about it and captaincy to Frank as well in the presser. From 6:40 ish in video) https://t.co/TrzgthPAcl pic.twitter.com/O2OV5Rz1g0

Some Spurs fans will see that as evidence that the former Bayer Leverkusen man’s teammates expect him to leave.
