SAN JOSE – A man suspected of robbing another man of a gaming console earlier this year in San Jose is in custody, police said.

The robbery happened May 9 in the 15000 block of Charlotte Avenue when the victim met the suspect to sell him the console, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih.

Shih said the suspect assaulted the victim, brandished a gun, took the console and threatened to kill him if he called police. The suspect left the area before officers arrived.

Detectives launched an investigation and identified the suspect as a 27-year-old resident of San Jose, according to Shih.

On July 22, police arrested the suspect in Sacramento and booked him into Santa Clara County jail on charges related to robbery, brandishing a firearm and criminal threats.

He is being held without bail at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, according to jail records.
