At this stage, it is unclear to what extent the external battery pack blocks the Win 5’s air intake. With that being said, Golomb suggests that GPD has engineered a degree of space between the battery pack and the handheld when the pair are attached. Also, it looks like GPD has included a second intake on the device’s bottom edge too.
Regardless, the external battery pack is expected to weigh around 343.5 g in part because of its 80 Wh capacity. Meanwhile, the Win 5 itself comes in at 556.5 g without its battery attached, which would make it about 4% heavier than the Nintendo Switch 2. Incidentally, a weight of 556.5 g would make the Win 5 about 7% lighter than the Win 4, despite featuring a 7-inch display. The former’s overall weight will rise to roughly 900 g with its battery attached, though. Please see our earlier article for full GPD Win 5 device specifications.
