Warner Bros. has put up a job posting for an Executive Producer role for a new DC Comics live service game, despite the failure of Suicide Squad and the repeated bombs that have happened whenever anyone attempts to tackle the genre.
Warner Bros.’ video game division has seen some huge bombs in recent times, with MultiVersus shutting its doors in 2025. The bigger flop was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which tanked so badly that it led to the death of Monolith Soft’s Wonder Woman game.
Despite the recent live service bombs in Warner Bros. and the industry as a whole, the company is going back to that well. A new job posting on the official Warner Bros. website has confirmed that the company is hiring for an Executive Producer for a DC Comics game with a role that needs to “Oversee post-launch content and live service strategy, ensuring ongoing player engagement.”
What Character Could The Next DC Live Service Focus On?

Considering that the Batman franchise hasn’t done well in live service and a Wonder Woman game was scrapped already, the next idea could be Superman, especially following the popularity of the James Gunn movie.
The bigger question is why Warner Bros. is going back to live service games after the past few have been so costly? Do the profits of Fortnite and Genshin Impact speak to the Warner Bros. executives like the Green Goblin mask in the Spider-Man movies?
There’s also the bigger problem of the superhero genre not gelling with the live service format. Part of the appeal of live service games is unlocking cool gear with a character who is a fresh slate. As Marvel Avengers proved, putting a fancy purple belt on Thor isn’t exactly thrilling as far as progression goes, and this new DC game will likely suffer the same fate.
