In another unsurprising move from Xbox, two of its upcoming first-party games are reportedly getting PS5 ports. Those two games are Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3.
Xbox’s Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3 reportedly heading to PS5
The report comes from MP1st, who found this info from a pair of resumes from developers working on the projects. On the resume of a Game Designer working on Gears of War: E-Day, PS5 is listed as one of the game’s platforms. Similarly, the resume of a developer from Undead Labs lists Sony’s most recent gaming console as a platform for State of Decay 3.
No further information regarding PS5 ports for the two upcoming Xbox games has been provided by the developers or Microsoft. Although it is very likely that both of these games are coming to Sony’s console, plans can always change. For now, take the info with a grain of salt.
It would not be surprising if Gears of War: E-Day made its way to PS5. Xbox is preparing to launch Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the beloved 2006 third-person cover shooter, on PS5 on August 26. The first entry would be a great way to familiarize PlayStation players who haven’t seen Marcus Fenix’s story. Especially as the upcoming entry is a prequel to the first game, and is slated to release in 2026.
The possibility of a PS5 port of State of Decay 3 is likely considering how many Xbox franchises are now available on the Sony console. If a PS5 port of State of Decay 1 or 2 were to be announced, that possibility will probably become a reality.
