It comes after Isak told the Magpies he wants to leave St. James’ Park.

The Sweden international has not travelled to Singapore for Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Isak currently has three years remaining on his contract, but negotiations over a new deal have stalled.

The breakdown in talks followed demands for wages worth £300,000-a-week.

Meanwhile, Liverpool previously approached Newcastle to outline their willingness to pay a British record fee for the forward.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are also keen on the 25-year-old, who is valued at £150million by his current club.

With Isak’s future uncertain, Eddie Howe and his staff have started to look at potential replacements up front.

Jackson is the latest name to join their shortlist after scoring 13 goals across all competitions for Chelsea last season.

Those strikes took his overall tally to 30 in 81 appearances for the Blues since signing from Villarreal in 2023.

The Senegal star has eight years left on his contract, but faces competition from new signings Liam Delap and Joao Pedro for minutes next season.

Manchester United and Aston Villa are also possible suitors for the 24-year-old.

Both clubs are monitoring Jackson’s situation at Stamford Bridge.

Who could replace Isak for Newcastle?

Meanwhile, Newcastle have also been linked with both Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko.

The Toon Army have also seen a £25million bid for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa rejected.

They have since been informed by the Bees that Wissa is not for sale this summer.

It leaves Anthony Elanga as Howe’s only first-team signing of the current window.

The winger, who is an international team-mate of Isak, arrived from Nottingham Forest for £55million earlier this month.

Elanga scored six goals and added 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances last term.
