Legion TD 2 is now free to download on the Epic Games Store. The game is usually priced around $19.99 on digital marketplaces, but players can currently grab the strategic battle sim free of charge.
Legion TD began as a a very popular mod to Warcraft 3 and quickly took on a life of its own. After starting in early access in 2017, Legion TD 2 fully launched in 2021 and his been well-supported by its team through major updates, quality of life enhancements, and balance changes, which have been released monthly, to make for a more enjoyable meta.
For those unaware, Legion TD 2 works like this: Players are tasked with outlasting the opposing team by guarding their king from waves of combatants while simultaneously sending their forces to debilitate their strongholds and eliminate their king. Of course, more strategies play into the game, such as utilizing resources and upgrading your units/towers for better optimization, but that is essentially the gist of it.
Legion TD 2 also supports full cross-play between both Epic and Steam users, so, yes, you can play with your buddies regardless of what they’re using. There are also solo and co-op campaigns, with the Floating Isle campaign and the Desert Ridge Campaign available for purchase now.
Legion TD 2 is available for free on the Epic Games Store from Thursday, July 24 to Thursday, July 31 at 11 a.m. EST.
