The free game section on Epic Games Store has been updated, and besides making another freebie live, this has revealed the first PC giveaway for August 2025. There will be two titles available, and both are well-rated.
Epic Games Store has made another free game for PC live, which will remain free-to-keep until July 31 UTC 15:00. With this refresh in the freebies section, the storefront has also revealed the first PC giveaway planned for August 2025. There will be two titles, and among them is Pilgrims, a playful adventure title with an “Overwhelmingly Positive” player rating on Steam.
More specifically, since its Steam release, which happened in October 2019, Pilgrims has received over 4,500 player reviews, and among them, 96% are positive. This soon-to-be free game on Epic Games Store costs $6.99 when there’s no sale in place, but from July 31 UTC 15:00 to August 7, it will drop to $0 on the platform.
Developed by Amanita Design, Pilgrims is best known for its unique and point-and-click gameplay. It’s set in a whimsical world where players can freely roam across, and the story mainly involves travelling between different scenes of the map. In these points, players can collect various objects and characters represented as cards.
Depending on the context, these characters and objects can have multiple uses. This aspect of the game encourages creative experimentation with the cards. For instance, players can find a groom, which can be used to strike someone or clean up a mess.
As for the second free game, it’s Keylocker | Turn Based Cyberpunk Action. It’s also a well-received title, currently featuring a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. As the name suggests, it’s a turn-based title, and per players who have tried it, this JRPG has a rich story with multiple paths.
Players get to take the role of BOBO, who is a singer tasked with dismantling the regime with turn-based tactics. The game features rhythmic combat, and there are unique character skill trees. Keylocker | Turn Based Cyberpunk Action costs $19.99 without any discounts in place, and it will drop to $0 on July 31 UTC 15:00.
