Bloober Team is keeping up with the drip feed of new footage for Cronos: The New Dawn, releasing the first extended gameplay video for the highly anticipated sci-fi horror title. This new 10-minute video offers a deep dive into the game’s combat, enemies, and survival mechanics while introducing two of the game’s distinct environments: Islands in The Mist and The Hospital.
In Islands in The Mist, players navigate a mysterious liminal space where their visibility is limited, and the tension is high due to the danger lurking in the fog. In contrast, The Hospital delivers a claustrophobic descent into madness, where the building’s corridors twist into nightmarish labyrinths.
Bloober has previously talked about the game’s Merging mechanic, but now players can get a closer look. For those unfamiliar, in Cronos: The New Dawn, fallen enemies, known as The Orphans, don’t stay dead for long! If players fail to burn their bodies, these fallen monsters can be absorbed by nearby Orphans. Through a grotesque process known as Merging, enemies transform into faster, stronger, and more horrifying abominations, gaining new abilities and becoming even more formidable in combat.
Topping off the footage is a glimpse of one of the game’s bosses, the ominous entity known only as Terror. This encounter sets the tone for the psychological and physical horrors that await.
Cronos: The New Dawn will launch this fall for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
