A team that recently competed at the Club World Cup are now determined to complete a deal for Tottenham captain Heung-min Son after hearing that he is not a central part of Thomas Frank’s plans at Spurs for the upcoming campaign.
Thomas Frank has said that Tottenham face a ‘tricky’ decision on Son, who has just a year left on his contract at Spurs.
Reports indicate that Son would like to see out his contract at Spurs and join the MLS next summer, with Los Angeles FC thought to be keen on acquiring his services.
However, some sources have reported over recent days that Son could leave Tottenham following their pre-season tour of South Korea, which could end up being the 33-year-old’s farewell tour.
LAFC are determined to land Heung-min Son from Tottenham
However, according to The Athletic, LAFC are not giving up on their pursuit of the forward and are now pushing hard to bring him through the door this summer.
The report says that there have been discussions between the Spurs star and the MLS club.
While there has not been a substantial movement towards a resolution, the hope at LAFC is that the South Korean can be convinced to make the move to the United States.
The report alleges that Son is not in Thomas Frank’s plans, at least in his regular left-forward role, and the American club are thus making efforts to reunite the player with Hugo Lloris in Los Angeles.
Are Tottenham sending hints that Son may be leaving?
Over the past few days, we have seen Tottenham Hotspur being linked with several forwards from around Europe as Frank looks to add to his firepower in the final third.
Some sources claim that Spurs have joined in the race for Real Madrid star Rodrygo, while it has also emerged that the Lilywhites are considering making an offer for Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
That suggests that the North Londoners are indeed preparing for life without their long-serving forward this summer. Whatever the case, Heung-min Son would leave Tottenham a titanic club legend.
