While there are many reality dating series set in tropical locations, like Bachelor in Paradise, Too Hot to Handle, and Temptation Island, Love Island seems to be the one at the top of everyone’s watchlist. While you watch for the connections and love to blossom among the couples, you’re really staying for all the drama that arises from the tensions between the cast.
What if some iconic video game couples were to make their debut on Love Island? Like a few troublemakers who would really stir the pot and cause some drama. Or, other couples who may have gone through a lot in their video game journeys, and are now meeting that significant other again for the first time in a while. These would be the most interesting gaming couples on Love Island.
8 Mike And Jessica
Until Dawn

Mike and Jessica were the ultimate power couple in Until Dawn, and the tropical Love Island setting would be a far more romantic venue to watch their relationship grow versus the snowy, Wendigo-infested Canadian wilderness of Blackwood Mountain. They are deeply in love with one another, so seeing them interact with other islanders, including those who might try to split them up, would see drama spill out.
When Jess was pulled through their cabin window by a Wendigo, Mike immediately gave chase and could take the more challenging, faster route to keep her alive. And Jessica’s confrontational and driven personality would add to the drama. Just look at her impassioned address outside the cabin when she thought her friends were interrupting her and Mike from being intimate.
7 Johnny Cage And Cristina
Mortal Kombat 1

For Johnny Cage, we’ll go with his love interest from Mortal Kombat 1, as their dynamic, while very short in the game, would make for the most dramatic to see play out on Love Island. In Mortal Kombat 1, you learn Johnny was married to Cristina, but they are now divorced. And a big part of why they split was Johnny Cage being too attached to his acting persona and not the genuine soul she thought she was marrying.

10 Mortal Kombat Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spinoff
Mortal Kombat has a large and diverse enough cast of exciting characters to justify several spinoffs.
First of all, Johnny Cage being on Love Island would be hilarious, given his knack for pop culture references (and I’m surprised we haven’t seen one for Love Island in the actual game) and his love of throwing comical middle fingers and being fixated on his shades. Seeing the struggle between him and Cristina will make you want to root for her to drop him and find a better match on the show.
6 Trevor And Patricia
GTA 5

Put Trevor from GTA 5 on Love Island, and your ratings will go through the roof. Out of all the GTA protagonists, Trevor is the most volatile and unpredictable, so having him there won’t just cause drama, but probably also some brutal violence if someone rubs him the wrong way or tries to make moves on his girl. Expect many sudden cuts to commercial breaks.
And who is that special someone Trevor is coming to Love Island with? Patricia Madrazo, the wife of Mexican Cartel leader Martin Madrazo whom Trevor kidnaps, with the two later ending up in love and staying in touch. If Martin Madrazo doesn’t catch them at a Coldplay concert on an audience cam, then he might certainly send in the cavalry when he sees these two lovey-doveying it up on Love Island.
5 Astarion And Tav
Baldur’s Gate 3

Astarion going on Love Island is a recipe for some blood-soaked vampire trouble and steamy romance, and that’s why we love it. Astarion is one of your romance options in Baldur’s Gate 3, and he’s a vampiric Elf rogue who has dashing white hair, pointy elven ears, and a brilliant voice and delicious personality captured by Neil Newbon, pun intended.
Seeing Astarion withhold his urges from draining the blood of other contestants on Love Island would be hilarious, with Tav (the name for your player character in BG3) trying to playfully stop Astarion from hurting others. The fact that Astarion is controlled by his Vampire Lord, Cazador Szarr, adds a whole other level to the drama that might play out.
4 John And Abigail Marston
Red Dead Redemption Series

If you’ve played both the original Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll know that these two are the definition of drama. John and Abigail Marston have had the rockiest road to falling in love and staying together as a couple. There’s nothing but argument after argument between them, so Love Island viewers who’d be seeing them for the first time on the show had better heat up that popcorn.

The 19 Most Iconic Couples In Video Games
While video games don’t often focus on romance, these couples are still iconic in their own right.
Abigail is always looking out for John and only wants him to make better choices to stay alive with all the dangerous missions the Van Der Linde gang carries out, and then the bounty hunting he does for the US government. Since John missed out on the iconic experience on Guarma in Red Dead Redemption 2, Love Island would make up for that, but also hopefully be a lot more relaxing and peaceful.
3 Ellie And Dina
The Last Of Us Part 2

Imagine Ellie and Dina meeting again on Love Island after the events of The Last of Us Part 2. Now, that would make for the true plot of the third game. What would Ellie say to Dina? Would Dina take Ellie back, or would she try to couple up with someone else to spite Ellie? Can the two ever reconcile and redeem themselves by winning Love Island? That’s the drama and tension that would unfold.
Dina is rightfully mad and disappointed at Ellie, given how she took JJ and abandoned the farmhouse after Ellie returned from her relentless revenge quest for Abby on Catalina Island. Ellie’s selfishness and personal trauma showed that killing Abby was more important to her than making a life with Dina and JJ. Imagine what extremes Ellie would go to on Love Island to win back Dina.
2 James And Maria/Mary
Silent Hill 2

James Sunderland has just escaped his torment in Silent Hill, and his next stop is going to compete on Love Island. And who does he meet there? Why, the ghost of his wife, Mary, and the Silent Hill version of her, Maria. Think about the tension and drama playing out throughout the whole season of the twisted supernatural love triangle between James, Mary, and Maria.
Maria is like the hotter version of his wife that he wanted, and thereby formed in his psyche, which is who manifested in Silent Hill, while his actual wife, Mary, was sick with a terminal illness, and James made the disturbing decision to murder her and justify his actions as though it was a mercy killing. Will James overcome his selfish actions and try to start over with Mary, or will he screw things up again and fall into the lust and allure of Maria?
1 Nemesis And Melinoe
Hades 2
Melinoe has many romance options in Hades 2, but one of the more interesting ones is Nemesis, who, at first, comes off as very cold and closed off. Nemesis is essentially a nemesis to Melinoe, but seeing them go from enemies to lovers is quite remarkable and would make for some shocking TV moments on Love Island that would keep viewers glued to their screens.
In Hades 2, Nemesis will sometimes even randomly join in on your runs, where she and Melinoe can have a bit of friendly competition over how many foes each takes out. Therefore, Love Island had better come with a hot spring available for the season featuring these two contestants. Otherwise, this pairing may not work out, since their romancing requires a hot spring.
