Tottenham and Chelsea think they could land Premier League star at £30m discount

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of landing an Argentine international have now been boosted as it has emerged that the Lilywhites can sign the player for a fraction of the price they were quoted earlier this summer.

Spurs have added more firepower to their attack this summer by securing a permanent deal for Mathys Tel and signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.

However, Thomas Frank might not be done strengthening his attack yet, with reports indicating that Tottenham are now eyeing Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho, who is ready to leave Old Trafford after falling out with Ruben Amorim.

Earlier this summer, it was revealed that Man United asked Spurs to pay £70m for Garnacho, but his price tag has now reportedly dropped substantially.

Tottenham could sign Alejandro Garnacho on a discount

The Telegraph have now claimed that Man United are ready to take a hit on the players who Amorim has deemed surplus to requirements.

Garnacho is one of those, with the Red Devils ready to quickly cash in on the versatile attacker after the Portuguese coach made it clear that he does not want him in his squad.

The outlet claims that the Old Trafford hierarchy initially demanded around £60m-£70m for the Argentina international.

However, the forward’s suitors now believe that an offer of around £40m would be enough to land the 21-year-old, as his position at the Manchester club has become increasingly untenable.

Tottenham face plenty of competition for Garnacho

The Telegraph back up what we have heard from other sources over recent days by naming Aston Villa and Chelsea as Tottenham’s biggest challengers in the race for the United winger.

It is revealed that the Blues and Napoli failed with offers for Garnacho during the January window, but it is not mentioned if Antonio Conte’s men will return for the player this summer.

The publication adds that the United star is attracting interest from abroad, but his preference at the moment is to remain in the Premier League.
