A new Pokémon Presents is here—and in it, Takato Utsunomiya, Chief Operating Officer of The Pokémon Company, shares the latest news and updates from the world of Pokémon. Among the topics discussed are the upcoming games Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Champions, as well as the surprise new release, Pokémon Friends. Announcements on upcoming animation include new episodes of Pokémon Concierge, plus a special project being produced by Aardman called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu. We also learn about the 2025 Pokémon World Championships—as well as PokéPark KANTO, an amusement park attraction opening in Japan.
Additionally, there are updates about the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon Sleep, and Pokémon Café ReMix.

New information was revealed about the much-anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, including a look at a newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon: Mega Dragonite. We also learned more about the friends you’ll make and the rivals you’ll battle in Lumiose City. Preorders for the physical version of the game are available now, and there will be an early-purchase bonus of a Ralts holding a Gardevoirite Mega Stone. Coming in 2027, Pokémon and Aardman have partnered to create a new stop-motion animated series offering a unique look into the Pokémon world with the signature Aardman sense of character, comedy, and craft. A new teaser for the highly anticipated series can be seen on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

The 2025 Pokémon World Championships are fast approaching! From August 15 to 17, 2025, we’ll see top Pokémon players battle it out in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE in Anaheim, California. Tantalizing teases for this year’s Worlds included a peek at the art for the 2025 Paradise Resort Pokémon TCG promo card and that this year’s finals will be held in an arena! Those who prove themselves to be the best during the competition will earn incredible prizes, including the coveted Champions’ line. Each event attendee will also get a special digital code to receive a Toedscool for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. There will also be fun surprises for attendees and fans watching the livestream from home. Stay tuned for more details!
Mega Evolution returns to the Pokémon Trading Card Game in a big way in the upcoming Mega Evolution expansion. We got a sneak peek at some of the beautiful (and powerful) cards that can be found in the expansion: Mega Lucario ex, Mega Gardevoir ex, and Mega Kangaskhan ex were revealed as special illustration rare cards, and we got to see an entire Evolutionary line in the form of Bulbasaur and Ivysaur’s illustration rare cards and Mega Venusaur ex’s special illustration rare card.
Pokémon fans in Japan will be able to experience the world of Pokémon by visiting PokéPark KANTO, a permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction new to Japan’s Yomiuriland amusement park. As shared by Junichi Masuda, Chief Creative Fellow of The Pokémon Company, this park aims to be a place where people and Pokémon can have fun together. Comprised of two areas—the rich, natural Pokémon Forest where Pokémon play, and Sedge Town, where you can encounter even more Pokémon—PokéPark KANTO will feel like a place where Pokémon truly exist. Ticket sales are planned to begin in late 2025, with the grand opening scheduled for early 2026.
With the recent release of the Nintendo Switch 2 system, a free upgrade has been released for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet that allows you to enjoy the adventure with smoother movement and improved image quality, optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs. There’s also a pair of multi-part special events that will be held in-game. There are Tera Raid Battles, in which you’ll take on the four Ruinous Pokémon, and mass outbreaks, where you’ll find lots of Grass-, Ice-, Ground-, and Fire-type Pokémon. You can also get an in-game Tracksuit apparel item via Mystery Gift by entering a password in your game. If you’re playing Pokémon Scarlet, enter STRACKSU1T. If you’re playing Pokémon Violet, enter VTRACKSU1T.

A pair of popular Legendary Pokémon are coming to Pokémon UNITE. Latios arrived on July 18, 2025, and Latias swoops in on August 8, 2025. You can try out battles with Latios by entering the following Pokémon Presents commemorative gift code in your game: UNITE0722. This will grant you a 3-day limited license for Latios, as well as platinum Latios and Latias boost emblems. There’s also a new type of battle—Electrode Volleyball—available to play now!
September 2025 looks to be a big month in Pokémon Sleep, as the Raikou, Entei, and Suicune Research event will debut. And later this year, you can also conduct your sleep research in a brand-new area—Amber Canyon.
Ahoy! Nautical fun is washing into Pokémon Café ReMix with the arrival of Lapras in its sea captain outfit on July 23, 2025. But that’s not all! Sea adventure–themed decorations will be added to café customization soon, and Alolan Meowth, Totodile, and Minccino will all arrive one after another in swashbuckling outfits.
