While discounted by 45%, this 39-inch LG curved monitor offers significantly more value than its OLED rivals. The 39GS96QB-B boasts a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz at a WQHD resolution. Despite some text fringing, the LG display impresses with a dramatic 800R curvature and high contrast ratio.

With OLED gaming monitor options, larger screens increase the asking price exponentially. However, this 39-inch LG UltraGear display is available for a lower cost than many smaller displays. While a maximum 240 Hz refresh rate is ideal for fast-paced gaming, it also boosts productivity. With a steep 800R curvature, the 39GS96QB-B becomes one of the most immersive ultrawide candidates.

During the Costco deal, the OLED gaming monitor is $550, which is 45% off its original price. The display is also well under the all-time low price for the similar 39GS95QE at Amazon. Buyers will also receive $70 of credits applicable toward gaming subscriptions from Xbox, EA Play, and other providers. Shoppers will need a Costco membership to receive the full discount. Still, even with a 5% surcharge for non-members, the offer remains tempting.

The 39-inch LG UltraGear display features a WQHD, or 3440 x 1440 resolution screen. With a W-OLED panel of this size, a 96 PPI results in text that can appear a bit stretched. Buyers may also notice some fringing, where fonts lose sharpness. Even so, office workers can open multiple applications side by side, without needing a complicated desktop setup.

How the 39-inch LG UltraGear OLED monitor amplifies entertainment

Where the 39GS96QB-B doesn’t disappoint is during gaming or watching movies at a 21:9 aspect ratio. More PC titles now embrace the display’s ultrawide resolution, enhancing the realism of racing and flight sims. Even if some competitive shooters introduce black bars on the side, gamers benefit from low input lag. At 3440 x 1440, the demands on GPUs to drive a 240 Hz refresh rate aren’t as extreme as with 4K alternatives.

The discounted LG OLED gaming monitor handles glare well thanks to a matte coating. Reviews of the related 39GS95QE model measure an HDR peak brightness of around 1300 nits. Unlike IPS panel technology, owners will notice colors that are dramatically more vivid in this mode without sacrificing image clarity. Of course, this UltraGear option produces the deep blacks that are only possible with OLED panels.

One of the main competitors for this 39-inch curved monitor is the Asus ROG Swift PG39WCDM. Regardless, for most buyers, a longer 3-year warranty won’t justify paying a much higher price.

Purchase the 39-inch LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor for $550 with a Costco membership.
