What Video Games Are Coming Out in August 2025? – Explosion Network

Whether you’re still working your way across Australia in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach or attempting to collect all the bananas in Donkey Kong Bananza currently, there’s no time to slow down, as there are plenty of exciting games coming out in August.

Mafia: The Old Country aims to scale back from the open world of Mafia III, offering a more linear and directed story set in the early days of the Sicilian mafia. However, suppose you’re looking for a game with the potential of more length and plenty to keep you busy. In that case, there’s the smaller, but still open-world of Dyling Light: The Beast that’s worth keeping your eyes on, or if Lost Soul Aside, which the developers have talked about being inspired by Final Fantasy games.

There’s a plethora of games releasing in August that are either remakes/remasters or games that are usually platform-specific, making their jump to a new console. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the beloved fourth game in the series, OFF is a remaster of a beloved indie classic, and then there’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Gear of War: Reloded both making their debuts on PlayStation this month as Xbox Studios, while Helldivers 2 debuts on Xbox as a PlayStation studio game.

Here are all the major video games set to be released in August 2025, along with some smaller games we’re keeping an eye on.
