A primary school has scored top marks again – earning the highest possible rating from Ofsted for the second time running.
Shatterlocks Infant and Nursery School in Dover has been graded as outstanding in a report published following an inspection on May 7.

It previously achieved the same result during a full review in 2019.
Inspectors praised the Heathfield Avenue school’s “consistently high expectations for every pupil’s achievement” and the enthusiastic environment staff and pupils have created.
The report said: “Pupils bounce happily into school each morning. They enjoy learning and playing with their friends. They look forward to the exciting range of events the school provides.”
It continued: “The school has consistently high expectations for every pupil’s achievement. Staff know reading is vital to pupils’ educational success and ensure pupils get off to a strong start on their reading journeys.”
The school’s curriculum was also singled out for praise, with Ofsted describing it as both ambitious and thoughtfully tailored to support children of all abilities.
“Leaders at all levels ensure that the school’s curriculum takes the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities into account carefully,” the report added.
Shatterlocks is part of the Samphire Star Education Trust. Its chief executive, David Meades, said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the school has been recognised once again by Ofsted.
“Shatterlocks is an amazing school filled with talented staff and enthusiastic children who are eager to learn.”

Elsewhere in the county, the rapid at East Stour Primary School in Earlsworth Road, Ashford, has been recognised and it is tipped to be rated outstanding in the near future.
It follows an interim ungraded inspection in January and a glowing report published in February.
East Stour was previously rated good in 2019, but inspectors now believe a full inspection could upgrade the school to outstanding in all areas.
The report noted: “The school has high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and learning. This gives them a pathway and aspirations for the future.”
Children were praised for their “impeccable” behaviour, while teaching staff were commended for their high professional standards.
Inspectors also highlighted the pupils’ maturity, saying their “character shines through their actions and attitudes”.
To mark the achievement, the school held a summer celebration event attended by Ashford MP Sojan Joseph.
