Arrest after alleged assault outside pub

A man has been arrested following an alleged assault outside a pub which left a man with facial injuries.

The victim, who is in his 30s, had left the Waggon at Hale in Capstone Road, near Chatham, when he is alleged to have been assaulted by a man he did not know.

It happened around 10.15pm on Friday (July 18).

The suspect fled the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police were called and a 34-year-old man from Chatham was arrested that evening at a local address.

He was conditionally bailed on the following day to return to the police station pending further enquiries.

Investigators are now urging anyone who saw the incident but who has not yet spoken to the police to contact the appeal line.
