Watch Tottenham’s Damola Ajayi score his fourth goal of pre-season on loan

Tottenham’s Damola Ajayi could not have hoped to make a better start to his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers, having found the back of the net for the fourth time in the club’s pre-season campaign since his loan move last month.

Ajayi announced himself in style to the Tottenham Hotspur supporters last season, scoring his first goal for the senior side just three minutes after coming on for his debut in the club’s 3-0 win over Elfsborg back in January.

The winger impressed for Tottenham’s Under-21s last term, playing 18 times in the Premier League 2, scoring three goals and providing an assist.

The 19-year-old joined last season’s League Two champions Doncaster Rovers on loan last month, and will now have an opportunity to showcase his skills in League One during the upcoming season.

Video: Damola Ajayi nets his fourth goal for Doncaster

It did not take long for the teenager to announce himself at his new club, with Ajayi scoring in his Doncaster debut against Alfreton Town earlier this month.

The teenager then netted twice in his second outing and has now found the back of the net yet again in Doncaster’s third pre-season friendly of the summer against MK Dons to make it four goals in three games.

The Tottenham man turned home a cross at the far post, showcasing his goalscoring instinct again as Grant McCann’s side emerged 3-1 winners.

Damola Ajayi is looking to follow in the steps of Jamie Donley

Donley took his game to a different level during his loan spell with Leyton Orient last season, and Ajayi will hope to have a similar impact at the League One level.

However, the 19-year-old faces a sterner test than Donley as he will be playing for a weaker side who have just been promoted to the third tier.

Doncaster’s aim this season will be to stay up, and they will be hoping that the Tottenham academy graduate can get them the goals they need to do so.
